When properly selected, installed, maintained, and cared for, extensions should not damage your natural hair. The key is choosing the right method, amount of hair, and placement for your individual hair density and lifestyle. Protecting the health and integrity of your natural hair is always my first priority.
There isn't one extension method that's best for everyone. I offer both beaded row and tape-in extensions because different hair types, densities, lifestyles, and goals require different approaches. During your consultation, we'll talk through your hair, your desired result, and your maintenance preferences to determine the best fit for you.
Your investment depends on the method, amount of hair needed, length, density, and your desired result. Some guests are looking for subtle fullness, while others want a complete length and density transformation. After your consultation, you'll receive a personalized recommendation and clear pricing before moving forward. For density only, most clients can expect an investment of $1000-1200. For Length plus density clients can expect to invest $2000-4000.
With proper home care, quality extension hair can typically be worn for approximately 6–12 months before replacement is needed. Longevity varies depending on the extension method, your lifestyle, how frequently you wash and heat style, the color of the extensions and how well the hair is cared for at home.
Maintenance appointments are typically scheduled every 6–10 weeks depending on your extension method and how quickly your natural hair grows. Staying consistent with maintenance is important for both the appearance of your extensions and the health of your natural hair.
Absolutely! Extensions are meant to become part of your everyday hair. You can wash, blow-dry, curl, straighten, and style them, with a few adjustments to protect your investment. I'll walk you through exactly how to care for and style your extensions so they fit comfortably into your routine.
Yes! Proper placement allows extensions to blend naturally whether your hair is worn down, in a ponytail, or styled up. During your consultation, we'll also talk about how you typically wear your hair so placement can be customized with that in mind.
It depends on your starting hair and your goal. Adding fullness may require significantly less extension hair than adding several inches of length. Your natural density, haircut, length, and desired end result all determine how much hair is needed for the most natural blend.
Often, yes. In fact, adding fullness is one of my favorite uses for extensions. The important part is not simply adding more hair, but choosing a method and amount of hair your natural hair can safely support. If I don't feel extensions are a healthy option for your hair, I'll tell you and help you explore other solutions.
The best way to know is through a consultation. We'll look at your natural hair, density, scalp health, lifestyle, styling habits, maintenance commitment, and your goals. From there, I can recommend the method and amount of hair that makes the most sense for you, or let you know if another option would serve you better.
Both methods can create beautiful, natural-looking results, but they work differently. Beaded rows use wefts of extension hair secured along a strategically placed row, while tape-ins use smaller, lightweight sections that allow for very customized placement. Neither method is automatically better. Your natural hair, density, desired result, lifestyle, and styling preferences help determine which option is best for you.
